So long, farewell
Two exciting things happened today. My bestest, and oldest friend embarked on her travels to the continenent that is America. I'm so scared for her going out into the big wide world, it takes me back to my days when I was all alone in a big strange city. She gets to "work" on a ski-resort for 3 months, which actually translates to " I will be partaking in apres-ski for 3 months", and may even pop in on my island on her travels back.
Secondly....it SNOWED. Thank the good Lord. Ireland got snow, England got snow, Scotland got snow, Wales go snow, but the Isle of Man seemed to have been ommitted in the blizzards that crossed its path. However, today, the mountain had snow, and it even snowed a wee little bit when we were up there (FYI...we need to drive over a mountain to get to work). You almost couldn't see the sheeps. It made me all warm inside again.
All this excitement makes a girl tired *yawns*. Off to bed.
P.S. Lola, if you read this Stateside, hope you had a good drunken flight and didn't plummet to your fiery death, and also didn't get cavity searched by customs. Say hello to the snow for me there too. And any sheeps you find lurking amidst it.

Children in Need
Children in need....I'm a children in need. I have a mortgage, a job, two big kids to look after.....and I'm a children. I would say I deserve some of the cash they're dishing out to these "disadvantaged children". Nevertheless, I took part in todays festivies which included....4 hours of baking last night to produce 50 cupcakes and a large sponge in a Pudgsy stylee theme for sale to the guys at work for money to donate, seeing how far I could cycle in 10 min on a broken exercise bike in the banking hall without going to red in the face because I have not done any strenuous exercise since last century.....which was agonising...my thighs still hurt and will hurt more tomorrow, watching, in disgust and with the urge never to eat anything again, two scantily clad youngins prance about in next to nothing as "cowgirls" to raise funds for this "oh so desperate charity". I'd say my contributions this year should cover the next 10 years at least.
Off to bed (yes 22:47 on a Friday night) as I fear tomorrow will be a very sore day.

Why
Yes....why?
Why do we have to work. This full-time 9 to 5 business is really starting to get me down. It's not even 20:30 and I feel like gouging my eyes out and putting them to rest. They are so sore from staring at computer screens the whole day (the irony of this blog....) and now I insist on inflicting more torture on them by studying.
Funny thing, when I type up these things, I'm very particular on my spelling....don't want to look like a div and all. Anyways, my trusty friend the free dictionary provides this definition for gouge :
1. To cut or scoop out with or as if with a gouge: "He began to gouge a small pattern in the sand with his cane" Vladimir Nabokov.
2.
a. To force out the eye of (a person) with one's thumb.
b. To thrust one's thumb into the eye of.
3. Informal To extort from.
4. Slang To swindle.
I honestly thought that they wouldn't put that in a dictionary....oh well, nothing seems to be shocking anymore. These ramblings are going nowhere, so I shall bid adieu and go sleep....at 20:30!

Long time, no blog
So.....
I've watched every conceivable dvd and tele programme (i.e. complete season of Lost + episodes 1 and 2 of season 2) could possibly want to these past 3 weeks, and now I am ready to return to real life. I have finally moved out and have been living in the new pad for 2 weeks now. I have a cleaning routine already. Sad I hear you say? After studying 9 months of bacteria and other microbial growth, I can assure you, it is not sad. There are bugs everywhere, and I dislike mess.
I'm also back on full time at work which kinda suxxors. Means I have to face real life everyday, as opposed to my cushy 3 working day week I used to have when I was a "student". Oh, how I miss the "student" life. The sleeping in until 8:15, the "Murder, she wrote" lunch hour, decaf tea on demand, staying up until 22:15.........
It's getting on to 22:00 now. Being a full-time worker and home-owner takes its toll. Washing, cooking, cleaning, working, and a bit of studying on the side (two new short-courses!!! yay me)....makes a girl tired. Off to bed I go. Will post something exciting soon....that is if anything exciting decides to happen to me, which is highly unlikely as I repell excitement.
