My one question

When i die, if I ever meet the man upstairs, I will only have one question for him. Where does all this snot come from? Seriously, I hate being sick. I wake up in a sea of tissues every morning. Needless to say, I am not looking my best at the moment. I had my hair cut, and would take photos, but alas the big red scabby nose, swollen face and neck, and little piggy eyes don't really compliment the cut. Oh, the barking cough doesn't go too well either.

*grumbles*

St Paddy.....you bastard

I'm 1/8 Irish.....it was only right to celebrate St Patrick, the patron saint of alcohol. The evening started well, with me trying Ula's hoop earing in my belly ring....observe ~

Then we actually started drinking. This was one of the more tame photos I have~

I remember most of the evening, which may have involved hunting down a certain nerdy classmate in the flat complex we were in. It was fun. I stumbled in around 3 or 4, and was in Glasgow by 1pm today eating ramen at Ichiban. Best hangover cure ever. Also, it snowed.

Insult to a wound

So this guy approaches me, smiling and such, and says "You look clever, hardworking...." etc., "can you help me with my project?". "Great!", i think, "I LOOK clever". Just what a girl wants to hear. I resemble a hard working geek, aka, "you've let go a bit, haven't you, love?"...."too busy working, you don't have time to look after yourself".

In all fairness, I'd much rather be considered intelligent than attractive, but still, picking me out of a class of geeks (I consider myself not THAT geeky) because I looked the most clever. Ula thought this hilarious, and kept on reminding me how he didn't approach her, because she doesn't look clever, just attractive.

To add insult to the wound, I think he may have been gay >_<

We're getting there captain....I think we're back on route

So, today was interesting. I trundled to campus, as I do at 8am every morning, and lo and behold, there had been a mass suicide of earthworms. I was very dismayed at this sight. Somehow the rain had called all our annelid friends to beach themselves on the pavement. I know beach isn't the correct verb, but it did look kind of like those mass jellyfish or whale beaching events. I would have taken pictures, but I thought it too morbid for a Monday.

After my enthralling 9am with a lecturer who Ula and I reckon belongs to the Scottish/Italian mafia , I trundled back home over the earthworm graveyards. Midday saw me trundling back to make my course selection for next year *insert gasp*. It goes as follows : Physiology; Chemistry for Life Sciences; The Dynamic Cell; Genes and Gene Action; Microorganisms, Cells and Immunity; and Biometrics. A pretty dandy selection I might say. This sets me up for a few honours programmes, of which I have ACTUALLY narrowed it down to two. The first being Genetics, but we all knew that was coming. The second is based on the fact that a) I have enjoyed it so much this semester...regardless of what my exam grades may be; and b) I can incorporate genetics into the honours degree as well. My second choice is *insert drum roll* Molecular Biology.

It has really fascinated me, and I think it is broad enough for me to leave my career options open. Most interesting is the protein courses we do. Currently, researches are collaborating to gather information with the Proteome Project (akin to that of the Genome Project), and it is huge. We also look at things such as Cancer and such in the honours years, which is pretty funky. So, slowly, but surely, I'm getting there. Finding my direction in life, and having fun on the way there =D

Happy Monday everyone. Hope your's has been as fab as mine.

An update to my sad life

Looks like I'm the only one online on our uni network at this time on a Friday....wonder why? Ula made me get Facebook, and now I feel kinda sad being the only geek up on a Friday doing work and only having like 5 friends. Damnit, I want quantity, not quality. This is Facebook...I should give people the false impression that I'm cool and have lots of friends. Add me as a fake friend if you like =) < I don't think I remember my last name anymore.....>

Worst week of my life

Symptoms: lethargic, despondent, melancholic, exhausted, loss of appetite, lack of concentration, insomnia, poor work standards, grumpy.....

Never ever am I giving up chocolate again, ever. 10 days of hell. My work standards went down, my practical sessions were awful, the test I wrote was atrocious, I felt life was not living. People noticed the difference over the past few days, and I could not stand it anymore. I did not crave chocolate, I didn't even feel like eating it, but somehow I knew my body needed it....so I gave in to a snickers bar. The best thing I have done all week. Now I can concentrate on my work...and oh yes, there is a lot to get through this weekend.

Have a good one...I won't be >< (but at least it may be filled with chocolatey goodness)
